I have to say I strongly disagre. Religionds do evelove and branch, not just end. What if you meet an eathist person who dosent belive in science? Where is there chart?
In this figure science seems more logical. But as you know, it is a deliberate "misunderstanding" of what faith, and theology is about.
As someone who has never been to the US, I get astonished over and over again, by the mutual arrogance and disrespect that theists and naturalists have for each other in America. No wonder why religious folks are sceptical towards science, and why materialists are sceptical towards religious faith.
What if theists and naturalists would take each other a bit more seriously? I think there's a good chance that the so called "stupid creationists" would become more interested in natural science, and that "cold-harted materialists" would become more interested in whats holy, if both sides lay their policy of confrontation aside.
MEN: Think of your current sexual partner. How much difference exists between their weight and the weight of your ideal partner?
WOMEN: Think of your current sexual partner. How much difference exists between their weight and the weight of your ideal partner?
Do mice have STD"s?
Well the short answer is YES... While we don't often think about non-human animals having sexually transmitted diseases, most (every) animal that has been studies has them.. WOW huh? If you think about it, sex is all about the transfer of materials from one individual to another. Although the primary purpose is the transfer of gametes, one might imagine that selection would favor the evolution of microbes that can take advantage of this pre-established route... after all for pathogens, transmission equals reproduction...
I study the evolution of mating systems in mammals, specifically Peromyscus. Along those lines, I woks with MHC genes and sexually transmitted diseases to better understand how all 3 factors are related to reproductive success, and mate choice.
